Both pediculosis and scabies are considered among the most prevalent ectoparasite diseases in the world and are encompassed upon the list of neglected tropical diseases by the World Health Organization. They are vectors of potentially deadly diseases, consequently also considered public health issues. Their clinical manifestations are miscellaneous and the diagnosis is based on clinical observation, therefore study of the diverse clinical pictures is essential for epidemic control. On the other hand, diverse therapeutic options are available and for this reason adequate selection of treatment is crucial to diminish contagion rates.
